Premium users get increased limits for almost everything in the app. With Premium, you can follow up to 1000 channels, create up to 20 chat folders with up to 200 chats each, add a fourth account to any Telegram app, pin 10 chats in the main list and save up to 10 favorite stickers. While you can send uncompressed media in other messaging apps, you have to convert it in another format like EXE or PDF. Telegram, however, allows you to send uncompressed video and images directly (without converting them into another format). It saves you a lot of trouble. Clear Telegram Cache and Local Database
A further privacy blunder is that Telegram notifies your contacts when you join it β unless you donβt give it permission to access your contacts. The app doesnβt warn you itβs about to ping your contacts, and thatβs a big caveat for those who want to use Telegram to keep a low profile. One of the worst parts about messaging apps is that anyone can add you to random groups without your active permission. However, the good part is that Telegram gives you an option to disable it altogether. You can change the desired settings from Settings menu -> Privacy and Security -> Groups -> My Contacts and then select all the Telegram users to βNever Allowβ. I canβt tell you how much I love this Telegram trick. Dozens of stickers now have impressive full-screen animations, which Premium users can send in any chat to add extra emotion and expressive effects that are visible for all users. This premium sticker collection will be updated monthly by Telegram artists. New user announcement
One of the nagging issues I have with WhatsApp is its extremely limited text editing features. For example, if someone sends a message, you canβt select a part of text from the message. You will have to copy the whole message and then edit it out in the small text field which frankly is very annoying. However, Telegram has brought a great way to select and copy a part of a message. Tap and hold on a message to select it first and then again tap and hold to select your part of the message. Thatβs ingenious, right? To set self-destruction timer, swipe right on the homepage, tap βNew Secret Chatβ, and add recipients. Now simply tap the clock icon and set Self-Destruct Timer to the desired time limit (from 1 second to 1 week). The clock starts ticking the moment messages are displayed on the recipientβs screen. Another useful feature is βsend without soundβ. It is rather self-explanatory: you can message friends freely when you know they are attending an important meeting, studying, or sleeping. Recipients will get a notification as usual, but their device wonβt make sound, even if it is in general mode. You donβt need a separate image/video editor to make your photos/videos more compelling. You can do it right in the telegram app using its intuitive interface.
Yes, with the recent update, now you can add animated stickers of Telegram on both images and videos. We all love Telegramβs high-quality animated stickers and now you can bring life to still images using these popular animated stickers. However, keep in mind, after adding stickers, images will turn into GIFs and might lose some quality. So to use this feature, just select your image/video and tap on the βbrushβ icon at the bottom. After that, tap on the sticker icon and add animated stickers to your media. Thatβs it. If you donβt want messages in your secret chats to hang around forever, Telegram lets you set self-destruct timers to permanently remove them. After a message is received, it remains in the chat for a predetermined period β you can choose times between one second and one week β before disappearing.
